Boomers face long life, small pensions, expert warns

Longevity is likely to cause financial problems for retiring baby boomers, according to an expert on aging. Joseph Coughlin, founding director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AgeLab, told a conference that "disruptive demographics," in which people live longer and healthier but with less in pension benefits than earlier generations, requires new sophistication in financial planning.
