Commentary: 401(k) plans need federal overhaul

"Poor workplace education, plan complexity and high costs" have made 401(k) plans an "inadequate vehicle" for retirement planning, according to this columnist. "The best thing that could happen to 401(k)s is mandatory workplace education, automatic enrollment/contributions and standardization of the plans," according to columnist John Wasik, author of "The Kitchen-Table Investor."
