Fainting episodes double since new vaccine recommendations

CDC research shows the number of people who fainted after being vaccinated doubled since health officials recommended three new shots for adolescents in 2005 and 2006. About 63% of the fainting episodes occurred after patients received Merck & Co.'s cancer vaccine, Sanofi-Aventis' meningitis vaccine, and Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline's shots against whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria.
