Used-fuel options do not rule out need for waste site

Emerging support for nuclear energy and recycling used fuel will not eliminate the need for a nuclear-waste depository like the one proposed for Yucca Mountain, write experts in nuclear energy and economic policy. Recycling and interim storage of used fuel are alternatives that would give the nuclear industry more flexibility, but storage of some nuclear waste will still be necessary, they say.
