Authors say England's testing curbs student interest in reading

About 100 authors and illustrators in England have signed a petition in support of educators who are looking to eliminate national tests for 11-year-olds. The authors and illustrators said testing pressure is to blame for a lack of interest in reading among those students. Headteachers are planning a boycott of national reading and maths tests.
