Bobb: Detroit schools will recruit from Teach for America again

Detroit Public Schools emergency financial manager Robert Bobb says the city will resume using new teachers from the Teach for America program after years of budget cuts eliminated its presence in Detroit. Bobb made the announcement during a graduation speech Saturday at the University of Michigan's School of Education, which has produced a high number of TFA recruits in recent years. The president of the city's teachers union said Bobb's announcement was premature considering that 2,000 Detroit teachers received pink slips last month.
