Steve Jobs' Flash-bashing may be supported by statistics

Steve Jobs notched up the battle between Apple and Adobe last week with an essay promoting H.264 video over Flash. Statistics that take into account the past four quarters show some 66% of new videos are now encoded in H.264 format, while 26% are being encoded in Flash, a rapid decline, according to Encoding.com. "The native Flash codecs and H.264 have completely flipped in terms of market share (Flash also supports H.264, however, but you don't need a Flash player to watch H.264 videos)," according to a quote from TechCrunch's Erick Schonfeld that is cited in this blog post.
