CMS clarifies Medicare EHR incentive payment process

Providers will receive electronic health record incentive payments one to two months after verifying that they have met the meaningful use requirements, according to the CMS. However, the CMS won't issue incentives within that period to providers that still haven't achieved the $24,000 threshold for eligible Medicare claims due this year, the agency said in a recent announcement.
