Feds propose rule to regulate Medicaid provider cuts

The Obama administration on Monday announced a proposal that would disallow cuts of Medicaid provider fees if states can't guarantee that the reduction would maintain "sufficient access" to care of Medicaid beneficiaries. The proposed rule would also require states to monitor care access regularly, consult Medicaid recipients and make a comparison of payment rates and charges.
