Home technology advice: Sell to strengths, and charge for it

Smaller retailers of consumer-electronics gear can benefit from the big box companies' decisions to shrink their electronics inventory, the head of Home Technology Specialists of America said at the group's recent conference, where he termed the trend a "dramatic" development. HTSA Executive Director Richard Glikes said retailers can take advantage of the downsizing by focusing on their strengths and monetizing them. "Less volume requires more profit per sale," he said.
