USDA: Offspring from cow with BSE not infected

The BSE-positive California dairy cow had two offspring, one stillborn and one healthy calf that USDA officials tracked down and tested for the disease. The test was negative. As is standard procedure, the farm where the BSE-positive case originated, as well as a second farm, have been placed under quarantine, but officials point out there is no danger to the food supply.
