Will Intel adopt TD-LTE in lieu of WiMAX?

Intel has taken a strong interest in TD-LTE technology, the Long-Term Evolution flavor used by Clearwire and most Chinese wireless operators, according to an Internet report, which notes that the chipmaker seems to be turning away from its tilt toward WiMAX networks. Intel appears to be displaying especially strong interest in cracking the Chinese market, having joined with Huawei Technologies to establish a research facility to test TD-LTE wares, GigaOm notes.
