Calif. council votes to raise landing fees

The Santa Monica City Council in California voted to raise landing fees for all aircraft using the airport -- even student pilots will be assessed $10.96 for every touch-and-go. The city claims the airport falls short of its budget. The fees are scheduled to come into effect Aug. 1.
