CTIA, AT&T applaud Obama's choice of Wheeler to head FCC

Wireless carrier groups praised President Barack Obama's choice of Tom Wheeler to head the Federal Communications Commission. Wheeler, who ran what was then called the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association from 1992 to 2003, was lauded as an "inspired pick" by AT&T Senior Executive Vice President Jim Cicconi. CTIA-The Wireless Association® President and CEO Steve Largent said Wheeler has "a keen understanding of how mobile wireless broadband can drive our economy."
