DOJ files appeal against order to make Plan B available to all ages

The Justice Department has filed an appeal to a court order that mandated the FDA make the morning-after emergency contraception pill accessible without prescriptions to women of all ages within 30 days. Prior to the appeal, the FDA indicated it would lower the over-the-counter age limit for the pill to 15. The Justice Department has requested that the court temporarily halt the order while the appeal is heard, according to Erica Jefferson, a spokeswoman of FDA.
