Harris Teeter posts 8.7% profit boost for fiscal Q2

Harris Teeter's profit increased 8.7% in its fiscal second quarter, which ended April 2, compared with the same quarter the previous year. Sales climbed 4.3%. "We are very pleased with our results for the second quarter," Chairman and CEO Thomas Dickson said. "Our comparable-store sales increase, which was favorably impacted by the shift of the Easter holiday, remained strong despite the fact that we did not see any meaningful inflation during this period."
