Lawmakers: Next FCC chief must back "open, successful" auction:

The nomination of Tom Wheeler to head the Federal Communications Commission is getting a mostly positive reaction from Capitol Hill, earning praise from key Democrats. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden, R-Ore., said Wheeler must commit to using the FCC's powers in a "public and transparent" way, and they called for an "open, successful incentive auction free from artificial restraints."
