Solar project in Calif. is world's largest

The Antelope Valley Solar projects, the world's largest, fully permitted solar photovoltaic venture, consists of two co-located projects in California. The $2 billion, 579-megawatt project will create 650 construction jobs and provide power for 400,000 homes when it becomes operational in 2015. Several other solar PV projects are being developed in the area, making it what one could call a "renewable energy mecca" of the future.
