Whey protein improves health markers in obese adults

Obese adults who ate meals containing whey protein -- found in milk and cheese -- showed slower gastric emptying than those who consumed meals with casein, gluten or cod proteins, a study indicated. Researchers also found participants in the whey protein group showed lower postprandial fatty acids but higher levels of insulin-boosting amino acids. The results appear in the Journal of Proteome Research.
