Why distribution centers shouldn't ignore vision systems

Today's distribution centers continue to adopt new advancements for managing goods, but they could be missing a lot when they disregard the value of using machine vision systems, writes Sal Spada, research director at the ARC Advisory Group. Machine vision, a location detection tool, can be used with other technologies to optimize warehousing operations such as bar-code reading, volumetric scanning, smart conveyance and package inspection, Spada writes.
