E-mail pen pals grapple with serious issues

More than 1,300 students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) system's Leadership for Global Economics magnet program are using technology to link up with peers in Berlin and Moscow. After establishing initial contact through e-mail, the students discuss global economic and leadership issues they've read about in their counterparts' local newspaper.
