Ranbaxy withdraws antibiotic from U.S. market

Indian drugmaker Ranbaxy Laboratories voluntarily recalled nitrofurantoin capsules, an antibiotic used for treating urinary tract infections, from sale in the U.S. because of manufacturing concerns. The company said the recalled drug is unlikely to produce serious side effects but might cause nausea and vomiting.
