Bird flu claims the life of a girl in Indonesia

An Indonesian official has confirmed the death of a 4-year-old girl from the H5N1 flu virus. Three other people who resided in the same area as the girl but did not have contact with her are being observed in a hospital, the official said. Local health officials said the three under observation came into direct contact with dead chickens. The Health Ministry is still awaiting the results before conducting a probe for a potential disease cluster, a spokesman said.
