Ethernet, clouds seen leading network-storage business

Ethernet, cloud computing and solid-state drives will become the leading technologies of the enterprise-storage-networking market, EMC Chief Technology Officer Chuck Hollis said in an interview before the release of the annual EMC-IDC "Digital Universe" report. With 40GB networks costing $1,000 a port, Hollis termed Ethernet as the best-positioned storage-networking technology.
