Fatal cat disease hits Michigan county shelter

Officials at an animal shelter in Shiawassee County, Mich., are working to find ways to curb an outbreak of feline infectious peritonitis, a fatal disease that already claimed the life of one cat. Officials said up to 35 cats and kittens may be put down to protect the remaining felines from contracting the disease.
