Lawmaker wants offshore drilling taken off Senate climate bill

Provisions on expanded offshore oil drilling should be stricken from the Senate climate bill in light of the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, said Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee. Meanwhile, the White House announced that it will hold off on new drilling projects until an investigation into the incident is completed.
