United jet flies on synthetic natural gas blend

A United Airlines Airbus A319 completed a Friday test flight using a blended synthetic natural gas fuel in one of its two engines. "This flight confirms our assumptions about how this fuel performs on a commercial aircraft and is the next step in our effort to stimulate competition in the aviation fuel supply chain, promote energy security and environmental benefits and the creation of green jobs," said a United executive.
