Chinese regulator aims to bring banks in line with Basel III

The China Banking Regulatory Commission issued rules to ensure banks comply with Basel III requirements. The regulator said Chinese banks are not divided according to systemic importance. China will start implementing the regulations next year, and banks will be expected to comply by 2016. Under the Basel III schedule, banks have until 2018 to fully comply.
