Geithner: U.S. can get to August before reaching debt limit

The U.S. can get along without raising its debt limit for three weeks longer than expected, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said. The Treasury Department has taken "extraordinary measures" to buy time, and tax receipts are better than projected, Geithner said. The government can keep borrowing until Aug. 2; previously, Geithner said the deadline was July 8.
