Most day care centers fail to meet AAP's TV guidelines

Researchers said 69% of 255 day care centers in Ohio were equipped with a television set and only 41% adhered to all recommendations of the AAP about TV viewing. Educational programs were shown almost 50% of the time, entertainment programs 30% and a combination of the two 20% of the time, according to the study presented at the Pediatric Academies Societies meeting. The study found 81% of centers with TVs did not allow screen time for children below age 2.
