ANSTO facility to house nuclear waste

The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation has announced it will become the site for nuclear waste storage for five years while a national repository is under construction. "Radioactive waste resulting from nuclear medicine production and research must be managed by the countries that make it, consistent with international best practice," ANSTO CEO Adi Paterson said. Some criticized the plan, saying the national repository should have been built earlier.
