Calif. utilities seek 378MW of renewable-energy capacity

California's three biggest investor-owned utilities are aiming to procure a total of 378 megawatts of renewable-energy capacity in their second request for proposals under the state's renewable-power auction program. San Diego Gas & Electric hopes to get 45 MW worth of contracts, Pacific Gas & Electric aims to secure 147 MW and Southern California Edison set a target of 186 MW. Under the program, four auctions will be held every six months over two years. Bids for each of the three auctions are due on May 31.
