Hotels seek revisions to ADA pool rules

Many in the hotel industry are supporting a federal bill that would let hotels acquire portable pool lifts instead of the permanent ones prescribed by new rules under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Hotels are also seeking a 12-month extension on the deadline for compliance. "It gives us an opportunity to work to assure we have the equal access to pools at all our hotels," said Kevin Maher, AH&LA's senior vice president of government affairs.
