Meaningful use payments to providers exceed $5 billion

CMS specialist Robert Anthony announced that as of April, more than $5 billion in Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments have been made to 93,650 doctors and hospitals that demonstrated meaningful use of EHRs. Last month, CMS paid about $586 million to Medicare and Medicaid providers, he said.
