Microsoft sets June developer summit in effort to expand app menu

Microsoft will continue its aggressive pursuit of developers to write applications for its Windows Phone operating system at its developer summit in June, the company said Wednesday. The app store has more than doubled in size in the past year, growing from 30,000 apps in May 2011 to 80,000 as of last month. Also on Wednesday, Microsoft extended its Windows Phone Marketplace to 22 additional countries.
