Airline ticket prices up 30% from 2008, study says

According to a study by Boyd Group International, the average price of a one-way airline ticket has risen almost 30% since 2008. The consulting firm took into account base fares and ancillary fees when performing the study. "Airlines today are profitable largely due to the revenue streams from these fees," said Michael Boyd, chairman of the consulting firm.
