IANA reports strong Q1 volume gains

Intermodal activity during this year's first quarter rose 4.5% year-on-year, according to the Intermodal Association of North America. Domestic container volume surged 10.2%, while international containers climbed 3%. "Factors contributing to these volume gains include stronger than expected consumer spending and continued growth in intermodal market share based on tight highway capacity and solid railroad service performance," IANA said.
