Increased heart risks linked to cognitive decline

Dutch researchers conducted cognitive tests on 3,778 35- 82-year-olds and found that those with the most cardiovascular risk factors did 50% worse than peers whose heart risk scores were lowest. Smoking and diabetes were among the factors strongly correlated with differences in cognitive function. The findings appear in the journal Stroke.
