Glycemic index the new low-carb

Kraft and Kellogg have launched low glycemic products, foods that contain whole grains or other carbs that are digested slowly. The Glycemic Index, which determines how quickly carbs are digested and raise blood sugar levels, has already gained enough popularity for Whole Foods and Tesco to market the slow carb products with special labels.
