SEC to slash securities fees, Cox tells Congress

The SEC will reduce the fees it levies on securities transactions by $1 billion, according to chairman Christopher Cox. In testimony before the House Financial Services Committee, Cox outlined plans to slash SEC charges for securities registration by 71.3% and to cut most other fees on securities transactions by half.
