Nurse group reacts to Canadian Blood Service's plan

Wendy Fucile, president of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, criticized the Canadian Blood Service for its plan to replace retiring nurses with "multi-skilled" personnel to screen blood donors at clinics in response to a countrywide shortage of nurses. "Nursing is a regulated profession, which assures competency. That will not be there when you move to unregulated workers," Fucile said.
