PHRs allow patients to safeguard, manage medical data

Data security is increasingly becoming a concern among patients and clinicians as the adoption of electronic medical records grows, industry experts said. Personal health records, however, allow users to control what information they want to store, such as prescriptions and contact data. Such platforms are particularly helpful for caregivers as well as patients with many ailments, said the president of Connectyx Technologies, maker of MedFlash Personal Health Record.
