Calif. dog undergoes throat surgery normally reserved for humans

A medical team at the University of California, Davis, Veterinarian School and School of Medicine recently performed a surgical laser treatment on Mojito, a 1-year-old dachshund diagnosed with an abnormal throat muscle. Mojito reportedly was the first dog in the U.S. to receive the treatment, which is commonly used on people with swallowing difficulties.
