Federal experiment targets online sales of stolen goods

Federal agents in Kansas City, Mo., launched a six-month test of software aimed at quickly identifying websites selling stolen goods. Retailers, who report an upswing in organized retail theft now that criminals can use online stores to quickly sell stolen items, are getting involved in the fight as well. Earlier this year, the National Retail Federation announced it would meet regularly with eBay to work together to fight retail crime.
