Heart risks aren't lower in men vaccinated against pneumonia

A U.S. study found that pneumococcal vaccination doesn't help reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack in men older than 45. The rate of first heart attacks among men who received the vaccine was 10.7 per 1,000 person-years compared with 6.07 per 1,000 person-years among men who were not vaccinated.
