Researchers plan to test intravenous drug candidate for Alzheimer's

Researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio are preparing to conduct a trial of an experimental drug for Alzheimer's disease. The drug, solanezumab, is administered intravenously monthly and is intended to target amyloid plaques in the brain. To measure the drug's effectiveness, study participants will undergo PET scans.
