Retirees may fill in for Australian teachers who boycott tests

If Australia's teachers continue with their planned boycott of national tests, Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard says, that part-time and retired educators will be enlisted to administer the tests. Teachers are protesting the tests because testing data will be used to rank schools on the controversial My School website. The union says publishing that data could be misleading and would harm already struggling schools.
