U.S. bakers and millers offer conditional support of biotech wheat

Bakers and millers in the U.S. said they support research into biotech wheat, but they want to be more involved in the development before bringing such a crop to the market. Incorporating nutritional improvements and other enhancements into the biotech wheat could help boost consumer acceptance, said Hayden Wands, director of procurement at Sara Lee Corp.
