Teams from 245 buildings in U.S. race to cut emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency launched a competition that will see groups from 245 buildings across the U.S. race to see which building can cut its energy consumption the most. Competitors will be able to exchange ideas and strategies through an online tool. "There are a wide range of activities, from large capital improvement to just making sure lights are off when people aren't using them," said EPA's Energy Star spokeswoman Maria Vargas.
