Glider pilots attempt to cross Rocky Mountains

Glider pilot Gordon Boettger, 44, attempted to cross the Rocky Mountains from Nevada in a glider plane but landed in Idaho due to weather conditions. Boettger was accompanied by co-pilot Hugh Bennett, 79. Both pilots carried oxygen and wore suits designed for soaring at high altitudes.
